TVS Motors have confirmed the news that they will be launching 5 completely new 2-wheelers in the country by December next year. The company has seen a serious decline in its market share owing to the lack of products in its lineup. With 5 new two-wheelers, the company is planning to perk up its declining sales in the country.
The domestic sales dropped significantly due to lack of new releases in the executive bike segment. To fill in this space, the company had launched Phoenix 125 cc which has sold a total of 10,000 units so far. TVS will begin launching its new 2 wheelers this year itself. This year will see the launch 1 motorcycle and 2 scooters by TVS Motors.
A TVS scooter has been spotted multiple times, test driving in Bangalore and Chennai
and therefore it is most likely that this will be TVS’ first launch for this year. This scooter is comparatively larger than Wego and will also use similar components making it cost effective. The upcoming motorcycle might also mark the entry of Victor brand into the market. It will be a contender in the 100cc and 110 cc segment.
Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Motors, Mr. Srinivasan said that “It is just 11 years since we broke our partnership with Suzuki. We are doing everything to improve our quality and technology. In the last three years the focus has been on improving the quality keeping BMW and Honda as benchmark. These improvements delayed some of our launches,”
