Electrically driven vehicles are quickly gaining popularity. We have seen many cars powered by electric motors on the racing field. Talking about electrically powered scooters, they are still at an initial stage but marching with a good pace. Terra Motors is a Japanese firm known for its electrically driven vehicles. It is soon going to launch its Terra A4000i into the Indian market. The most unique feature of this scooter is that it has a fixed iPhone console.

This iPhone fixed in the scooter’s instrument console will display important information like the battery status, rate of power consumption, GPS navigation etc. It also offers a cloud data storage facility which is a popular trend among technical experts. The scooter is powered by an electric motor that receives electricity via a 48V Lithium Ion battery. This battery can be fully charged in 4.5 hours and will give a ride of 65 kms with a maximum speed of 65 km/hour. The battery can last for an astounding 50,000 kms after which it needs to be replaced.

The scooter is scheduled to be launched in India by the end of the year 2013. Terra Motors wishes to sell around 1 lac Terra A4000i units by the year 2015. As if now, it only supports a Smartphone but it might be designed in the near future to support Windows and Android phones. This e-scooter will cost around Rs.1 lac which is definitely expensive for Indian market.
