Mahindra is facing a tough phase in the Indian two-wheeler market with its 110cc Centuro and Pantero commuter segment motorcycles, that it had launched in the month of January this year but, still the Indian manufacturer has planned to roll out a 150cc bike in the market by the year 2015.
Mahindra has not revealed much about its upcoming 150cc innovation but, as per the speculations the company will launch this bike as a performance oriented, affordable, value for a money two-wheeler on the soil. With the launch of a 150cc motorcycle, Mahindra is targeting at the customers presently lying in the commuter segment and looking for an upgradation.
Mahindra has invested around Rs. 100 Crores on its two-wheeler vehicle project and is looking forward to expand its product lineup by the investment of further Rs. 400 Crores in the coming 4-5 years. For, those who don’t know, Mahindra has entered the Indian two-wheeler market with the launch of the Pantero and Centuro motorcycles this year but due a tough competition from Rivals like Hero Splendour and Bajaj Discover, it has not yet received a very good response from the market for any of its two-wheelers. Previously, the manufacturer was only having the Duro Scooter included within its two-wheeler product lineup.
Mahindra is expected to attain a sales figure of 1.2 lakh units by the end of this financial year. The company is looking forward to develop its two-wheeler product catalogue with its motorcycles and scooters. Mahindra has recently launched the e2o electric car in the market and in the coming time it has planned for the launch of four new two-wheelers including two scooters along with a 150cc bike and the Mojo 300 in the Market.
