The Aprilia Caponord 1200, that had made its debut at the EICMA 2013 held in Milan has finally marked its presence on the Indian soil as the company’s Pune based outlet has started taking official bookings for the bike.
Aprilia has always maintained solemn silence in terms of the marketing of its products in India and maintaining the same silence it has brought the Caponord 1200 motorcycle to the country. For the Indian two-wheeler market, the Caponord 1200 carries a price tag of around Rs.15 L.
Aprilia Caponord 1200 gets powered with a 1197 cc 4-stroke, Liquid-Cooled, Aprilia 90° V-Twin, Fuel Injected engine which is capable of developing a peak power of 128 hp at 8500 rpm along with a maximum torque measure of 116 Nm at 6500 Nm. The engine has been mated to a six speed gearbox. The Caponord 1200 possesses a Hydraulic Multiplate Wet Clutch, 43mm Sachs upside-down front fork along with a Sachs hydraulic shock absorber equipped with changeable rebound as well as preloaded settings. On the front wheel the motorcycle has got a double 320mm stainless steel floating rotor disk brake whereas the rear wheel carries a single 240 mm stainless steel rotor loaded disk brake with solo piston Brembo calliper.
To add to the uniqueness of the bike the manufacturer has equipped it with Aprilia’s patent ABS, APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) and ATC (Aprilia Traction Control) features along with a variety of other attributes.
So, all the Indian biking freaks get ready to experience the mesmerizing Caponord 1200 bike, as it will soon be available for sale to give a tough competition to the BMW R1200, Ducati Multistrada,Triumph Tiger and Yamaha Super Tenere motorcycles.
